This years xmas edition of the best of does not include Rihanna, so sorry…
It does however include tracks from Chad VanGaalen's Black Mold Project, Eyedea and Abilities, Julie Doiron, Shotgun Jimmie—Cancon extravaganza!
Also in here is a track from this years' RPM challenge completed by myself, Steven Parry, and Bryan Satalino under the moniker The Poor Us Chorus.
Spiral Stairs' new album is packed full of that good ol pavement sound that everybody loves. And the video for Stolen pills is nothing short of awesome.
Next is more Toronto indie rock goodness from Leonids. Followed by some Montreal doowop revival from King Kahn & BBQ Show.
A little set of some african influenced pop with Charles Spearin, Taken by Trees and Here we go Magic comes after a little lofi gem from Eat Skull.
What is a good mix without a heavy section? My son can't get enough of this Tyvek track 'Building Burning". Running around the house repeating the chorus over and over. Play Slayer? ok. Done.
The Slew is a project with Kid Koala and the ex-rhythm--section of Wolfmother. Yup. Raekwon serves up a dish so delish this year too.
The Clean's new album is amazing, and Ben Lee joined forces with Lou Barlow to make a new Noise Addict album after a dozen years hiatus.
Last, but not least is the XX. Synthy pop reminiscent of the Cure from their 80's darkness stretch.

My friends and I grew up in a pretty small town in Ontario. There wasn't much to do but drive around and hit the usual hangouts.
The Jeep, a 1986 Wagoneer, was one of the cast of characters involved in these explorations. It could carry a multitude of passengers, and good times. It had a reliable CD player, but not a very reliable engine.
These are some of the songs that stood for a time and place. Whether its the car-horn placed in the pause in hHead's 'Love', or barelling down the old railway tracks with the headlights off blaring 'Make it Now Again' by Mudhoney, these tracks all illustrate something familiar to these Lindsay kids.
I originally assembled this CD as an xmas present to a few close friends in 1997, and decided to make the podcast version of it available. It is kind of the originator of my best-of series, lthough it doesn't follow the best-of-the-year format perse.
